Let’s be honest: a corporate meal can quickly turn into a lukewarm buffet in a hotel hall, under white strip lighting, with squeaky chairs. We’ve all been there. The team arrives happy, leaves tired, and nobody really remembers what they ate.

And yet, a team meal is precious. It’s a chance to breathe together, to talk differently, to celebrate a success or simply to reconnect. It deserves better than a sterile room. At Mamma Maria, just a stone’s throw from La Louvière-Centre station, we welcome Hainaut teams the way we’d welcome la famiglia: around a real table, with dough that’s rested for 48 hours, a wood fire, and plenty to laugh about.

Why an Italian restaurant for a team meal?

Because Italian food, by its very nature, is meant to be shared. An antipasti board in the middle of the table, a pizza you cut together, a tiramisu attacked with a communal spoon: everything is designed to create a bond. Where an individual menu creates silos, the trattoria brings people closer.

And let’s be frank, everybody loves pizza. We avoid the endless debates about someone’s diet, another’s vague allergies, the third person’s “I-don’t-eat-fish”. Between pizzas, antipasti boards and vegetarian options, there’s always common ground to be found. And with us, it’s wood-fired, using imported Italian PDO ingredients — the real thing, not a watered-down version.

The idea: break the mould, build connection

Team-building isn’t built in a meeting room. It’s built when hierarchies relax, when you discover that the colleague from the 2nd floor has strong opinions on pineapple (spoiler: we don’t use it), when you laugh over a shared anecdote.

Our dining room is designed for exactly that. Warm, intimate, Italian to its core. No conference-room carpet, no flipchart in the corner. Just tables, soft lighting, the smell of the wood oven, and a desire to settle in. We can welcome small groups just as we can hire the whole restaurant for up to 42 guests — depending on the occasion, we’ll make it work.

Business lunches: quick, good, and on time

Got 1.5 hours between two meetings? We understand. Lunch service (12pm–2.30pm) is designed for busy teams: orders taken quickly, wood-fired cooking (so it’s fast), and the bill grouped together if needed.

It’s the ideal option for:

  • Garocentre teams looking for a proper meal just 5 minutes from the business park
  • administrative staff from the Province of Hainaut or the CPAS wanting a change from the canteen
  • staff from Tivoli Hospital or the town-centre clinics
  • sales reps passing through between Mons, Charleroi and Brussels
  • teams from the 12 business parks around La Louvière

We’ll see you coming, get you seated, feed you well, and have you back out on time. No unnecessary fuss.

Afterwork drinks & 5 to 9: for when you want to unwind

An afterwork drink is the art of turning the end of the day into a real moment. We open at 6pm, the oven heats up, the antipasti arrive, and the team relaxes. Italian wines, sharing boards, pizzas doing the rounds: it’s closer to an impromptu festa than a corporate cocktail.

It’s perfect for celebrating a deal closing, welcoming a new colleague, or simply because you’ve survived a tough week. On your way out, you’re just 5 minutes from the station car park: everyone gets home easily.

Team-building around a 60×40 cm pizza: the wow effect

Here’s our signature: the 60×40 cm pizza, wood-fired, carried to the table by two people. It’s theatrical, it’s convivial, and it always triggers the same reaction: everyone reaches for their phone, everyone laughs, everyone shares.

For team-building, it’s a real find. We can offer it with several toppings on the same pizza — so everyone finds their slice — and the simple act of cutting it together creates a shared memory. Far more memorable than a rainy escape room or a forced icebreaker workshop. Full details in our dedicated article on the 60×40 cm pizza.

Year-end meals & corporate Christmas parties

December is our busy season. Hainaut teams book their end-of-year evening with us, we hire out the room, we put together a menu with antipasti, the signature pizza or individual pizzas, and of course the dolci — tiramisu, Nutella doughnuts or pistachio doughnuts.

The trattoria atmosphere does the rest: tablecloths, candles, Italian wines, and that warmth you simply can’t recreate in an open-plan office. If you’re thinking about it, book early: the best dates in December go from as early as September.

We’re 5 minutes from Garocentre and the town centre

Geographically, we’re hard to beat for teams in central Hainaut:

  • 350 m from La Louvière-Centre station: ideal if part of your team is travelling by train from Mons, Charleroi or Brussels
  • 5 minutes from the Garocentre business park
  • A short walk from the Ianchelevici Museum and the Canal du Centre Boat Lifts (UNESCO-listed)
  • Easy evening parking in the town centre

We naturally welcome teams from Houdeng-Goegnies, Strépy-Bracquegnies, Haine-Saint-Pierre, Saint-Vaast, Maurage, Boussoit, Trivières, and more broadly Manage, Morlanwelz, Le Rœulx, Binche, Soignies, Seneffe.

What team sizes do we cater for?

We adapt. Here are the setups we handle most often:

  • From 8 to 15 people: a classic team table, seated in a quiet corner of the room
  • From 15 to 25 people: a large table, convivial atmosphere, ideal for an entire team or department
  • From 25 to 42 people: full venue hire, a menu built together, festa atmosphere

For larger groups, let’s talk — we usually find a solution. Also see our Private Hire page for details, and our FAQ for frequently asked questions.
