At the end of October, the same question comes up every year: where to take the children for a Halloween evening without it turning into chaos, and without the parents ending up stuck in the kitchen preparing twenty different bits and pieces? The simplest answer is often a table booked somewhere other than at home, where someone else handles the service and where the children have room to be noisy without apologising every five minutes.
Let’s say it straight away: our week revolves around being closed on Tuesdays, so if 31 October falls on a Tuesday that year (or close to it), we instead look at the nearest weekend to schedule the evening. This avoids last-minute disappointment and leaves time to prepare a proper costumed meal, not a pizza gulped down between two doors.
What we can organise for a family Halloween evening
With us, a children’s Halloween evening in La Louvière is built on a simple foundation: the table, the pizza, and a touch of staging that we adjust depending on the group. No inflatable decorations or timed show, but a room that can be privatised for up to 42 guests if the group goes beyond immediate family — cousins, school friends, parents included.
Three scenarios come up most often:
- The extended family meal: grandparents, parents, children in costume, ten to twenty people around several tables pushed together.
- The birthday falling near Halloween: a child celebrates their birthday the same month, so we combine cake and pumpkins on the same evening.
- The outing between families from the same class or club: several households grouping together for a collective evening, often the nearest weekend to the 31st.
In all three cases, pizza remains the common thread: easy to share, familiar to the little ones, and our wood-fired oven cooks quickly, which matters when a dozen children are hungry at the same time.
The course of a typical evening, from the first phone call to the bill
It starts with a call or an email, a few weeks beforehand, to set the date and the number of guests. We discuss the menu — often classic pizze for the children, a few antipasti and sharing boards for the adults waiting their turn at the table. On the evening itself, families arrive in groups, often in costume, and settle at the tables pushed together or in the privatised room if the group warrants it.
Service follows its normal evening rhythm, from 6.00pm to 10.30pm: the pizze arrive one after another, the room stays lively, children get up, swap seats, compare costumes. It’s not a timed service or an organised show, it’s a trattoria evening where the tables are full and nobody watches the clock. At the end of the meal, the dolci close out the evening, and the bill arrives when families are ready, not before.
What’s decided a month ahead, what’s settled on the day itself
What’s important to book in advance is the date and the number of people, especially if the group exceeds around ten guests or if the room needs to be privatised. A month ahead, we already know whether it will be a whole room or several tables brought together, which allows us to organise the service accordingly.
What’s settled on the day itself, however, is the exact choice of pizze, last-minute cravings, and allergies specified on arrival. We prefer to have the structure fixed early and leave the menu choice open until the evening itself — children often change their minds between booking and plate.
To place the evening within the neighbourhood, the room is located 350 metres from La Louvière-Centre station, and a few minutes’ walk from the Musée Ianchelevici — handy if the evening begins with a costumed stroll through the centre before sitting down to eat.

The questions we’re asked most often
Can we book an entire room for a Halloween evening?
Yes, for up to 42 guests, the room can be privatised for the occasion. We detail the conditions on the privatisation page, and we adjust the service depending on whether the group remains open to other customers or occupies the whole room.
Is there a special menu for children that evening?
We don’t have a fixed themed Halloween menu, but the menu offers plenty to satisfy children: classic pizze, panini, dolci at the end of the meal. We discuss this together when booking to adjust the quantities.
Can we come in costume?
No problem at all, that’s very much the spirit of the evening. We welcome costumed groups just like any other table, with no particular constraints on the room’s side.
What happens if 31 October falls on a Tuesday?
As the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, we look together at the nearest possible day in the week to schedule the evening without losing the spirit of the date.
